(Pun apologies for the title, I just wanted to build a little egg-citement. Brace yourselves I have plenty more!)
A few years ago I began a tradition of themed sleep overs with my nieces and nephews. Themes have included Christmas, Valentines, St Patricks Day and Summer sleepovers. If you have read the title of this post then you already know which theme is fast approaching. Easter!
I am constantly seeking new creative ideas to keep everyone egg-tertained and to hopefully give my nieces and nephews some fun memories, that they will continue to remember when they are older. I work as a Nanny too so the more ideas I am armed with, the more I am prepared to brighten up rainy day lunches inside and mundane mealtimes.
I love to play around with meal times and make them more fun. When you have a theme it is so easy to do. Turning a beige boring bowl of porridge into a colorful face of a rabbit definitely adds more interest, gets the child’s attention, and above all makes the whole dining eggs-perience more fun!

I have just emerged from pinterest.com after creating a board full of Easter fun foodie delights. Some super healthy ideas and some not so healthy……but its about balance…..right?
From breakfast through to dinner, here are my favourite finds. Why not make the celebrations this Easter a little more egg-tra special!
***
Let us start at breakfast…
These are no ordinary bacon and eggs, these are eggs-traordinary Easter special bunny bacon and eggs.
Simple yet fun.

Make lunchtime easier and prepare these little cuties the day before. Why not get the kids involved in the making the day before too. Then when lunch time arrives you can put on your best Blue Peter voice and declare “here’s some I made earlier, da daa!”
Bunny Bread Rolls served with Bunny Babybels
These are bound to hop off your child’s plate.

Dinner time doesn’t have to be over complicated either, keep it simple. Serve roasted meat as normal and be creative with the veggies.
Did you know carrots are good for your eyes?
Have you ever seen a rabbit with glasses?

and now enter the treats……..

Like I said at the beginning it is about balance, so remember some fruit *wink*
Oh and let us not forget the real meaning behind the country going chocolate crazy.
Let Jesus get some kind of look in on the big day and nudge the bunny aside for one treat!
( Fig biscuits with one side sliced off and white icing piped on, simple)
